AN AUSTRALIAN APPEAL.

Sydney, Feb. 9

The Australasian Olympic vjiames Committee issues to-day an appeal io the public to contribute to the proposed fund of £10,000, to train and tquip a team. It is ,expected that the number will approximate,sixty, representing all branches, of athletics. Already £. c.49 is promised. It is hoped that the Government will again contribute. The amateur aspect is strictly preserved in training competitors.
