PEASANTS' DEPUTATION TO THE KING.
AN ENTHUSIASTIC GATHERING
Stockholm, F*eb. 8. Thirty-two special trams brought tho peasants, vho attended the churches prior to marching with banners to the Palace. There were two hundred delegates, of whom ten were from each pro-
vince. They surrounded King Gustaf's dais and affirmed their willingness to bear the harden of increased anna-
ments
Thunders of applause greeted the King's reply. The demonstration was mpre noteworthy because until 1866. the peasants were a separate ostate of the realm.
