j The Nelson and Old Boys cU'.bs iret on Saturday, and at the drawing of stumps Nelson appeared to have a decided advantage. Nelson were \yithout the services of Treweek and Ciark, while the Old Boys were minus Richmond and Giblin. The Old Boys batted first, and only managed to put together 49 runs. Nelson responded with 144; Saunders 33, Stratton 31, Jackson 30, Cunningham 20, Lane 12 being the chief scorers. With twenty nrinutes to play Old Boys again went to the wickets, and on the call .of time had lost two wickets for 11 rone. Appended are the detailed scores said bowling averages:—
