tA considerable amount of interest was taken in the cricket match between Sherry River and Kohr.tu on Saturday last, owing to the fact that those teams wore leading for the championship. Each team having been defeated once, a fairly close garae'was anticipated. Kohatu batted first, and compiled 80 runs. The first wicket down for Sherry River realised 73, when W. Martin and M. Pah] became associated in a good partnership, which carried the tot;i] to 205 for three wickets, the innings closing for 284, which left Kohatu _200 runs to get in an hour and a half.
