SURF BATHING FATALITY.
Dunedirt, Jan. 19.
Thomas Lowe, a gasworks employee, about -K> years of age, residing at St. Kilda, was drowned while surf bathing on Sunday afternoon. He appears to have i*ono cut a considerable distance, and, though without a companion, seve- . rrtl others wore in the water closo alongside him. The beach was thronged with people, and it was noticed that the man was in difficulties. Joseph Perura divested him self of his outer garments, and plunsod in. bringing the body fishore with facility. Restorative Mioaf.nio3 wore .applied for an hour and a'lvlf, without avail. Deceased leaves, a wife and ■-family of six or -sewn child- f ren. An inquest will be held to-mor-row.
