AUSTRALIAN RESTRICTIONS ON NEW ZEALAND REMOVED.

Christchurch, Dec. 30. Dr. Cumpston, the Commonwealth director of quarantine, has informed: the Hon. R. H. Rhodes, Minister of Public Health, that he is prepared to remove all quarantine restrictions on passengeris from Now Zenland to Australia providing the* present and any future cases of smailpox are isolated ; that contacts are-.kept under siipervision, and every means taken.-to detect unreportod cases; anr] that bulletins be forwarded weekly. Vessels from New Zenland arriviuo: in Rydnev are. to be inspected and released under the eamo conditions which exist regarding people leaving Sydney for -other parts of ,tno Common wealth, namely, on them "£- ---dertakin" t o give- a. report of any, illness within 2.1 days.
