SENTENCED TO DEATH

Constantinople, Nov. 26

• Kavalky, at Mustafa Pasha, was sentenced to death in contumaciam for the murder of Shevket Pasha.

He was arrested on board a Russian steamer with the co-operation of the Russian Consul, who was apparently misled by Representations that Kavalky was an ordinary criminal.

The Russian Ambassador has protested, and demanded the return of the prisoner <%nd the dismissal of Aymid Bey, prefect of police, for deception.
