GIRLS' FRIENDLY SOCIETY.

The members' of, the Girls' Friendly Society are to: be, congratulated--on, the successful concert given last evening in aid of the 'Society's funds. Tho Diocesan Library was comfortably filled by a very appreciative' audience, who encored almost tverv item. Tho programme was as i'o.Ws: —Piano duet, tho Misses Thompson; song, Mr. T. Houlker (encored) • song, "" Miss Dodds (encored); tromliono solo, Mr. J. H. Walkor .(encored);, recitation, Mr. E. Rudman (encored); song, Miss G. Hurley (encored); glee, Misses Scaly, Jacobs, Saxon (2), and Kenipthorno (encored); song, Mr. A. G. Betts (encored): quartette, Misses Maginnity (2), Dodds and Harley; violin solo,. Miss C. Row© (encored); recitation, Mr. Rudman. ,' : ..
At the conclusion of the programme Bishop Mules, on behalf of tho Society, thanked the performers for their assistance, and the audience for their attendance. His Lordship said ho was sure the audience had appreciated the excellent programme and the large audience must have been very gratifying to the promoters of the concert, as the proceeds would materially swell the funds of the Society. The Bishop was heartily applauded on concluding his remarks.
Mr. Hilier Cheek ably accompanied throughout, -except the glees, for which Miss Bisley played the accompaniment:
