At "the Theatre Royal last evening a complete, change of programme- together with the excellent picture,. "The Vengeance of Diirand,". which was requested to fee shown again j1 was witnessed by a. large audience. "The Last Biook- house," a thrilling story of early western colonisation splendidly acted .and magnificently portrayed, called forth apulause loud and prolonged. "The Prosecuting Attorney," wa:i an intensely dramatic production. A sporting ovent entitled "Tho Bull Fight" was a cleverly taken film involving many dangers which the ■cam-era-man gladly takes in order to procure exclusive works. Others all deserving of some mention made up a very choice coterie of kinegrams. Tonight another change will be presented, the star feature being "From ' Country to Town," a remarkable story of vivid imagination and much sympathy. Tom,-a country youth, wins a scholarship and goes to London. He meets Lady Eleanor, who is attracted by him. He forgets his sweetheart May of his early days. His parents visit him and bring upon him the scorn of his associates. Lady Eleanor, too, slights him, and he realises the "true worth of his country friends. To them he returns when ho has established himself as a solicitor and May becomes his wife. A Kalem of absorbing interest is "The Mission of a Bullet," which contains a powerful pl^+-, and a real test of friendship. "Calamity Anne's Vanity," is an exceedingly lunny comedy. "In the Days of Napoleon" is a real gem of a drama, which cannot fail to draw a crowded house by itself. Others are: "An Adventress Outwitted," "The Vandal Leopard," "Trip on the Riveria," "Pescava," two very fine scenics; "Once Was Enough/ and "Raising Barley in Japan." Reserved seats may be obtained at Jackson's. COUNTRY TOUR. Motueka will bo visited as usual tonight, and Takaka on Saturday.
