COMPULSORY REGISTRATION. (Received Sept. 22, 11.20 p.m.) Jeftannssburg, Sept. 22. j Tho Hon. F. S. ■ Malan, in a speech, | referring to tho forthcoming Compulsory Registration of Trade Unions Bill, hinted that tho Federation of Trades Unions w;ould not be permitted- to intervene in industrial disputes.* Ho cx-plain-ed that individual trade unions would bo represented, but would be forbidden to introduce general political considerations into the adjustment <,f «ny dispute. Ho added that the Bill would provide for a secret ballot before declaring a strike.
