Augustus Home, the artisan who found 59 of the stolen pearls in a gutter at Highbury, states that after delivering the pearls at the- police station he found one more in his rjocket. He offered it to various peeple at a piiblic house, thinking.it was a marble. He asked a penny for it, but nobobdy bought it. Ho subsequently Jo^t it somewhere. ' Mr Mayer, the owner of the necklace, states that the two missing pearls were the finest among the round gems. The value of the two missing pearls togethor is £15,000.
