A MODERN MIRACLE.

When addressing a meeting of young men recently on the subject of missionary work among the lepers of India and the East, Mr. W. C. Bailey bold of the only authentic case of a person being cured of leprosy that he had come in contact with during forty- ( three years' work among the unfortunate people. It was the case of Miss Reid, an American missionary, who 3vidently contracted the disease when ft-orking in India. While at her home town, Cincinnati, undergoing medical treatment for some other trouble, one af her fingers began to-., givo her trouble. It came to,her in her sleep, as to what the -trouble was. , Although tier medical attendant could not say definitely what the trouble; was, Miss' Reid knew it was leprosy. She went bo New York, and there a specialist pronounced the trouble to be leprosy. Returning to her home Miss Reid made quiet preparations to return to [ndia and did so. On the way, specillists in London confirmed the New Fork medical man's diagnosis, and in Bombay it was again confirmed. Mr. Bailey was appealed to to find some ilace for the unfortunate woman, and ,vas able to place her in a cottage in i small leper asylum in the Himalayxn mountains. When asked if she yo'uld not try some of the alleged mres she replied, "I leave myself in Grod's hands." The speaker could rouch that she was a leper. To-day, without any outside aid, she was cur;d. Medical experts had given her :ertificates to the effect that she was ree from the disease. She was still vorking among the lepers of India md God was blessing her work. That ras the only case of cure that he mew of. It seemed to be the gift of Jod:to;this earnest servant.
