Dunedin, Aug. 23. Otago met the South Canterbury touring team to-day on the Caledonian, ground before three thousand odd spectators. Thcro was a fair wind blowing^! and a disagreeable drizzle, the ground being somewhat soft, and the- bail creasy. Play was fast and open, but not -brillinat, the game finally ending in a draw, tho score being six points all South Canterbury scored a.l their points in tho first spell, playing with the wind, while- Otago equalised matters in the second half. For the visitors W. Dalton scored from a line out, and then Cockroft dropped over from open play, the latter failing with each of the kicks. In the second half Cuthill kicked a good goal for Otago from «, mark by Chi Ids, and Patterson scored from a scramble in tho corner, Cuthill failing to convert. In a curtain raiser the Otago junior representatives beat Waihemo-Waikou-aiti by 11 to 0.
