JOHNSON ON THE STAGE.

SUGGESTED COUNTY COUNCIL

PROHIBITION

London, Aug 22

It is stated that the London County Council, although in recess, has still power to make representations which will deter the licensee of the suburban music hall, owing to fear of his license not being renewed, from persisting in presenting Johnson. The head of the Music Hall Syndicate (Mr Peaving) said Johnson could decide the question for himself.

Mr Jenkins (Johnson's manager) says that to prevent him making a living on such private grounds would establish a standard which would be very prejudicial to variety performers.
