The "Civil and Military Gazette;" published at Lahore, in a series of articles, urges the Indian Ocean dependencies to supply tho nucleus of an Eastern defence system consisting of a fleet and expeditionary force to co-op-erate with tho Dominions to secure naval concentration where needed to safeguard sea-borne trade, and supply reinforcements for Egypt and India, besides providing against tho now naval factors that have arisen in the Pacific.
