WELLINGTON LANDLORD' FINED

Wellington, Aug. 21. Dr. McArthur ■gave judgment to-day in a case which has attracted some attention. Francis Aldertou. sued Edward. Ellis for /damages for wrongful ejectment. When two weeks' rent, was duo Ellis evicted Aklerton's family, put the furniture outside, . and locked the house. The Magistrate held that it was the landlord's duty to have taken legal proceedings and issued a writ for possession. Judgment was for plaintiff for £5 damages, and for Ellis for £1 8s rent. ■ ■
