It is expected that the township of Bright-water will he lighted by electricity next month. Tho poles and wires are now in position, and jfclr.. Ellis is only waiting for the arrival oi: some plant from England. The Stoke Orchestral Band and several ladies and gentlemen from-Stoke gave a concert to the boys of the Stohe Industrial School on Friday night, which was most enjoyable. A iter the performance was over, tho visitors and staff gat down to a supper pnnided'by the manager. A feature of tho programmec was a .quartette of Christy ; minstrels whose"' songs and choruses; captivated the boys. Much thanks are due to Mr. Wihiiot for the trouble ho took in getting up the entertainment. Tho following programme was given:—Selection. Stoke Orchestra; song, Mr. E. Barry; Alexander's Ragtime Band Quartette Party /.Messrs. Wilmot, All port, Smith and Edwards); cornet duet, Messrs Scott and Peters ; 6 on, Miss Lisle■ Kvvart.; "Be Oie Banjo" quartette party ; «ong. Miss Ada Chienall; "The T?ing-int!ed Coon," quartette party; reading, Mr. T. Scott; song, "Davy Jones' fleeter." Mr. Wilmot; "Good Night." quartette party.
