AVOID OPERATIONS. Extract from London "Medical Magazine" fo;- May, 1910:—"Thess ferments obtained from tbo papaw, are made up ii» bk& form of an ointment and gargle, and are recommended as an application to enlarged glandular tissues, tumours, and ulceratione. The present preparation seems to combine the most active ferments of the plant ta a suceaasful manner. Ifca activity ivaa demonstrated by -^varal cases of hypertraphy of the turbiyal bodies, and in . cases of enlarged tnasikt. After tare* or four weeks' application there was very, very marked improvement. There can be no doubt thafc the. prepar> »tion is unusually effective,,and should prove very eeisaceable, obviating the necessity for operative procedures in many casos. Such operative procedures are often adopted much too hastily. The preaent ferments are well deaerv* ing of a trial, and in many cases we have no doubt the result will be satisfHatory."
