TWO WELLINGTON CASUALTIES.

Wellington, July 14. Poter Jackson, employed on the railway at Paekakariki, had both thighs broken to-day while assisting to lift an engine uith a jack. Tho latter gave way, and a portion of tho engine struck Jackson. The man was brought to Wellington, and now lies in a critical condition.

Thomas Flint, p, farm labourer, died in a private hospital to-day while undergoing a.n operation (luider an anaesthetic) for the removal of varicose veins.
