McDonald's boot factory at Chippen•ilnle, in which there was a heavy stock a,nd much valuable machinery, was ■destroyed by fire. Tho damage is heavy. Three shops at -Gundagai were gutted by fire. The Premier and his •party, who were visiting the town, rendered valuable assistance in checking the spread of tho flames.
