AT CANVASTOWN.
On Saturday evening Mr. Atmor« gpo'ke- at Canvastown, there beings eighty-five of his constituents present. Mr. Glastonbury presided. Mr. Atmore spoko on similar lines to his address of the previous evening at. Carluko, and at the conclusion, on tho j motion of Mr. C. R. Hart, Mr. Atmora was accorded a. hearty voto of thanks: for his able address, and complete confidence) in him as their member. Tho mover said that everyone who had watched Mr. Atmoro's career in Parliament must bo thoroughly satisfied with, his actions as their representative. Tho motion was carried with two dissentients, and Mr. Atmoro, in acknowledging tho rote, said ho would not mind making a sporting wager thatthe two men who hud opposed the motion owned more land than any other two people in tho district. The shot was evidently effective, because it was received with laughter and applause.
