Auckland, Juno 22. A fatal accident occurred at a level crossing at Huntly on Saturday afternoon, by which John Hurst, a miner employed by the Taupiri Company, lost his life. Ho was in the act of crossing tho line on foot when tho south bound Rotorua express camo up, struck him, and carried him some distance:* Death must have beein instantaneous, the body being terribly, mutilated. There was a clear view of the train for about half a mile, and how the deceased came to walk in front is inexplicable. Hurst was a recent arrival in t'b/> Dominion.
