MANIAC IN A SCHOOL.
SHOCKING AFFAIR AT BREMEN
THREE CHILDREN SHOT DEAD,
SEVERAL INJURED
TEACHER FATALLY WOUNDED

I Schmidt, a candidate for ,a teacher's position, and apparently insane, entered the grounds of a Catholic school at Bremen, where he shot three girls dead and wounded six others, and also a teacher. When he was arrested he had six revolvers in his possession. Schmidt first entered a room in which there were 65 young girls. He shot wildly, killing three and wounding ten. A schoolmaster jumped on the assassin's back, but was mortally wounded. Schmidt then ran into the playgnound and wounded five" boys.
An. infuriated crowd of parents and others captured and beat Schmidt insensible beforo the police rescued him.
