AGRICULTURAL REFORM.
Farmers can look forward to tlia session with interest, because their special affairs will ■receive a good deal of tho Government's attention. It m intended to completely recast tho Agricultural Department with its many sub-divisions, and place overythmp; under tho control of a board of agnculturo, including directors nominated, by the farming community. It is thus hoped to secure more eftectivo cooperation between the divisions, and: reduce wasteful overlapping to a minimum. Legislative sanction will also •bo-asked for a new .system of agricultural colleges to bo brought forward by tho Prime Minister. A prominent Government member, Mr. E. Newman, is visiting Australia for the special purpose of observing how tho Commonwealth has tackled the question of agricultural education.
