A telegram received at Greenwich announces the discovery of a comet by M. Alexandre Schaumasse, of Nice Observatory. The object was between the small constellations of the Dolphin and the Little Hore, or Horses-Head, nearer to the former, and its motion, said to be north-east, would bring it into a blank region on the borders, of Pegasus. It rises about midnight, and, being rather brighter than the tenth magnitude, should be easily visible with a small telescope, though not to the naked eye at present. Further

observations are necessary in order to

find whether its brightness is increas-

ing. M. Schaumasso discovered a comet only last year, and another towards the end of 1910.
