THEATRE KOYAL PERMANENT

At the>Theatro Royal this afternoon and-evening an entire change of programme will be presented, the star item being the famous Vitagraph Company's drama, "The Spirit of the Hills." The atory is an interesting one, depicting life in Western America. Peggy Barland Has always looked on tho head of tho family as 'her father. One day ho acquaints'her that ho is only her guardian, and she has had some- land left to her. Sbei goes out alone in the world to take possession of it. She forbids the use of firearms by Ihe-r employees. Dick Owen, the foreman of her ranch, i s a fellow of excellent\ qualities, but sho wishes to impress upon him the dignity of her control. Dick is one. day attacked by enemies, and quickly writes a note to Peggy for a rifle. Sho rides quickly to his aid with two, and together thoy fight. Having conquered the enemies they return, and a.happy union ends the story. The supporting items contain many interesting subjects, including: "Pathe's Gazette" ; "Beautiful Beanville," coloured Patho scenic; "Young Mrs. Eaton," Edison drama; "Sho Cried," Vitagraph comedy, with Miss Florence Turner in the leading roloj "The Rajah's Hatred," Vitagiaph drama; "Light after Darkness," drama; and several other scenic and comic subjects.

At 10.15, after the ordinary programme has been ,yhown, and the audience has retired, a special picture, showing the Langforil-Mcyea boxing contest at the Sydney Stadium will bo screened. The contest., which went the full 20 rounds, occupies 4,000 feet of film, and is said to give a remarkably faithful representation of the historic battle between the two coloured champions.
