FLAMES SPREAD TO TALLOW
VATS.
Auckland, Juno 20. The fire at IWestiieki niado a briKianfc spectacle. Tho con flag ration was at its height between 2 and o a.m. The roofs fell in with a succession of orashes, and the -sound of falling boa.ms, machinery, etc., came frequently from within. Several railway trucks standing on a Biding caught fire. They were ■ filled -with- manure,, and little- could be don& to ,<*ave them. They were destroyed. An .alarming development was th© extension of tho fire to tho tallow vats ol'Hsllaby's Ltd., adjoining the manure work®: The vat structures gave.way, and a big volume of hot liquid tallow inundated the vicinity, and poured freely down "the railway line. Hoilaby a loss is £1000.
