IMMIGRATION RESTRICTIONS.

New York, June 20.

In order to check tho admission of Hindus and Malays from the Philippines, the Pacific Coast immigration regulations have been modified in the direction of empowering the officers to reject aliens coming from insular possessions, unless they are able to show that they are not members of an excluded class, or likely to become a public charge.

Thousands of Hindus have hitherto gained admission to the United States without difficulty onco they have been admitted to the Philippines.
