Mr. G. A. Edmonds, Town Clerk, leaves for Wellington ts-day to confer with counsel for the Municipal Association and th© Public Trustee on the subr ject of the loan consolidation scheme. Mr. Edmonds will also attend a meeting of the executive committeo of iho Municipal Association.

A Wellington telegram states that General Godley. left by.tho Aorangi last evening for San Francisco, en rout© to England, to attend tho British Army manoeuvres. The Gener?i hopes al&p to inspect the service. schools in^ the American army while in the United States, and will return to Now Zealand about the end of the year.;
