Mas tar ton, June 19. The first Norden Cup hockey match was played to-day in beautiful weather. There* was a good attendance. Manawatii, the challengers, wore defeated by Wairarapa (holders) after a fast and interesting game. in the first spell: Manawatu had the advantage, but in the second spell the local men proved superior. The first spell ended one goal each. In the second spell Wairarapa secured one more, and won the match by two goals to one. For Wairarapa Tunnicliif© and Reid ©cored, and Fritt for the visitors.

Tho following will, represent the Federal juniors in their match .with Nelson * on Saturday next: —Miller, Webley, Bennett, Cooke, >Vhite, Harris, Dee, Mullany, Nancarrow, Stevenson, Fleming. Emergencies: Mitchener, Cook and Bethwaite.
