PRISONER COMMITS SUICIDE.

Auckland, June 19
Austin Vincent Carroll, aged 3© years, who' was remanded on a charge of indecent assault on a little girl, committed suicide in his cell at Mount Eden gaol last night. Ho was found dead at 7 o'clock this morning. Apparently a towel was used as a belt. Om» end was fastened round the neck an<J tho other round the bans of the window. Carroll then jumped from a hammock and was strangled. , Ho leavo* a wife and two children.
