DAY-VAUGHAN.

A pretty wedding was solemnised on Wcdnoscbiv. 'ii- Si.-'-VJsirv':; Church, by the Rev Father Ainsworth, tho church being crowded by friends of tho brido. The contracting parties wero Ellen Florence (Nellie) Vaughan, tho only, daughter of Mr P. Vaughau of this city", and George Adam X)ay, second son'of Mr F. Day, of Hawora. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ivory cliarmeuso satin dress, trimmed with pearl trimming, and Irish lace, with tho usual wreath and veil. The bridesmaids woro Miss K. Caldwell and Miss E. Housiaux, and they wore pink silk dresses, with black picture hats, trimmed with pink roses. Master Jack Vaughan was the train-bearer, being; dressed in pale blue velvet and white satin vest. Tho bridegroom was attended by Mr F. Lock as best man, and Mr T. Day, brother of tho bridegroom, as groomsman. Tho bride's present to the. bridegroom was a handsome gold albert, and the bridegroom's present to the bride a diamond and ruby bracelet. The bridesmaids received diamond and ruby brooches and diamond and ruby pendants. After the ceremony a number of guests assembled at the Masonic Hall. .-In tho evening one hundred couples were entertained at a dance in the Masonic Hall. The married couple wcro tho recipients of many handsome and useful presents. inchidhia several cheques. They loft for Wellington tho next morning for their honeymoon.

A wedding took place at Wakefteld on Wednesday "afternoon. May 28th, tho parties being Mr. William Francis Fryer, late- of London, and Mist? Linda Duke, oldest daughter "of Mrs. W, Gooket, of Nelson. The bride wore a very pretty costume' of dark blue, and a smart wedgwood .hat to match, and carried a handsome bouquet of daphney and violets. Tho bride was given away by Mr J. Trowor. After tho ceremony tho guest© partook of an excellent.repast. The happy couple loft for their honeymoon at Church VaLoy. A large number of good wishes and presents were received.
