TRAMWAY APPEAL DISMISSED* j

Wellington, June 17. The Arbitration Court delivered.judgment in the caße in which the City Corporation appealed against convictions by Dr. McArthur, S.M., for breaches of tho tramway omployoes award in regard to employees at the power house. In dismissing the appeals the Court held that through a flaw in tho Arbitration Amendment Act, 1911, an appeal could not bo made from the Magistrate's Court to tho Supremo or Arbitration Courts unless the amount of the claim exceeded £50; whereas in the present case only £10 was claimed in respect of each branch. The Court added that whereas tho draftsman had intended to onlargo tho right of appeal ho had curtailed it.
