A meeting of householder s was held at Mr. F. E; Nbttago's residence on Friday last to select a site ■forthe proposed public school. Mir. li..3J.tdßa€Cton,: chairman of the Education Board,; j>re-: sided, And there was n representative gathering of settlers. &SWB--decided to accept the ©iEer of the Tasmaa dSruit Lands, Ltd., to give an acre of land, and section 3 of the- Tasman suburban area was selected as the most suitable. Mr. Nottage offered the use of a building as a temporary school, pending the erection of a building, and' it was resolved to apply to have the Tasman district declaim a separate school district. Messrs. Hallam and Nottage were elected as a- sub-committee to define the boundaries, and report to the Board. '"'■',. Tlie Presbyterian Church service on Sunday iaftemoon was well attended, Mr. }V. Benzies being th© preacher. A .meeting is to be held on the 19th inst to elecst ,a-:,committee,, and1 make arrangements for, the erection of a church' at an early-date; Church of England services are being held regularly at Mapua by Mr. H. Weyergang, and the attendances have been very satisfactory. / -
