As luck would have it, a cocklo fisher returning to Bcrck along tho dunes was struck by the strange manoeuvres of tlio aeroplane. He approached, and immediately realised the dangerous plight of the imprisoned man. But the wheels of the cart wore. now axle deep in the shifting sand, and it was necessary to summon the keener of tho

neighbouring lighthouse before tho occupant of tho cart could bo dragged to firm ground and to safety, just in time, for a few moments later the waves were washing over tho spot where he 'had looked death in the face for two terriblo hours.
