SHIPMENTS FROM CANTERBURY.

Christcfturch, June 2. The....£u*.iiv shjpmwt-^i-dosseirt' api>lcsc this soason from the Canterbury district to Souths America, consisting of about 2000. cases, goes by tho Athenic, leaving during this Aveek, from Lyttelton. A second shipment of about 3000 cases is to follow by the Paparoa, which loads at LArtteitoni on the 12th inst., and a third shipment of 3000 cases is expected to go 'by the next direct steamer. About 3000 to 4000 cases Avill go from the Styx apple orchard, and the : remainder from other orchards near Christchurch. The apples will be packed under the supervision oi Mr W. J. Courtier, .orchard inspector. Next season arrangements :tro expected to be made for March, April, May, and June shipments, and it is anticipated that 50*000 cases at least Anil bo required.
