LOCK-OUT AT BIRMINGHAM.

Thirty thousand workers connected with tho Engineering and Allied Trades' Federation have been rendered idle iv the Black Country and tho Midlands owing to strikes against ,Jow ■wagos. The Metropolitan Carriage Works at •Birmingham locked out 5600 hands beeaubo 500 struck. There is much Buffering among the women and children.
