CHOPIN RECITAL.

Miss Edith Kernptborne, who, 'assisted by :\lr. T. Iloulker, will deliver a Chopin recital with biographical sketches in the Druids' Hall next Monday evening, in thus highly spoken of after delivering a similar recital at Juneau, Alaska, by a contemporary in that part of the world: "Miss Kempthorne's account of the life of the composer was eloquent, comprehensive and well delivered, and it would bo impossible- to,praise too highly her skill in choosing the illustrative selections, the felicity of her comments upon and her masterly rendition of them. The Waltz in C sharp minor displayed to great advantage-tho exquisite technique of tho artist in the passages requiring clearness of touch combined with great delicacy. This, indeed, is one of the most noticeable features of Miss Kempthorne's playing. No matter how rapid or brilliant the passage each note is given with the utmost clearness and precision, and in scale and arpeggio passages the smoothness and evenness of her rendition is wonderful." The programme is advertised in another column.

This will be tho only recital given by Miss Kempthorne in Nelson, not one of a series, as previously stated, and it is expected that a very large attendance will assemble in the Druids' Hall on Monday evening to hear it.
