New PSymoutli, May 30. Tho Conciliation Council made- an award this morning in the paintors' dispute. Tho award is for one year, and fixes tho minimum wage at is 3d per hour, and a 44-hour week. No work on holidays, and no overtime, is permitted, nor any piece-work, and any journeyman working on his own account will coasq to belong to tho union. Preference is given to unionists.
