[United Press Association.]
Wellington, May 14. Mr. Massey stated to-day that he has been very busy preparing legislative proposals for the coming session, and already a number of Bills are ready, or in- a forward state, including an amendment of tho Land Act to give effect to that part of the Government's policy on this question which could not bo dealt with last session. Land .settlement is being pushed on vigorously in various parts oi tho country, and in, addition to the two estates acquired during the past week there are five or six others which will shortly, it is expected, be avai lab;o for cutting up for closer ■settlement. Owing to the Ministers' engagements in different districts a full Cabinet meeting is difficult to arrange In the circumstances it is unlikely that ajjV Legislative Council .appointments w-ill bo nnde before Parliament meots. J-OKfibjy the. announeomrMitq may l>o made in the Governor's Speech r-t tho opening.of the session.
