FERRY BOAT SUNK
NO LOSS OF LIFE

The ferry boat Birkenhead's steering gear was thrown out of order by heavy seas in tho harbour, and she crashed into the jetty. The vessel then drifted into the fairway and sank. There vvero no passengers on board, and thw crew of four were rescued.
