WOMAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL

Jeannie Baxter was committed for trial on a charge of murdering the-box-er and aviator , Bernard Hall. ~ '■• .
Some remarkable evidence was given at the inquest into the shooting of Julian Hall, the well known airman, by a young woman, named Jeanie Baxter. Tho tragedy occurred in April at Hall's flat, in Denrnan street, London. It was shown that_ Baxter had another intimate male friend, one Unwin, and the story was told of the dramatic circumstances Tinder which the- latter was challenged by Hall to fight a duel. One evening Hall produced two revolvers and placed them on a table. Later in the evening he .snatched up one of the weapons and invited. Unwin to take the other. ._< — Hall then.-.suggested that after the electric light had boon switched off they •should light-cigarettes, and that each should fire at the one the other was smoking in the darkness. Unwin, however, refused to do anything of the kind. Hall afterwards fell asleep oivthe heart)! rug. Further eviplence was given that Baxter had inquired of a friend whether she couir] be punished very much if she shot Hall. -;
