AN EXTRAORDINARY DUEL.
The Moscow correspondent of tho Paris "Excelsior" gives an account of a lcmarkablo tiagody which caused a groat sensation in tho first-mentioned <>ity. M. Yvon Potokin managed in Moscow v achool of fencing, employing his wile as an instructor. Mme. Potokin also gave elementary lessons in iencing to joung officeis, and her husband, believing tliat one ot the officers paid too much attention to his wile, challenged him to a duel. Just as tho mooting was about to take place Mm*l. Potokin epiiiug up, and declaiing that hor husband^s challongo was a reflection on hor honor, claimed "the light to fight him lii&t. M. Potokin agiccd, aud the duel botwoen husband and •wife began. Du'ino; tho fiivb three bouts M. Potokin contondod himself with parrying his wife's attack, but during tho fourth bout: one of the seconds, addressing Mine. Potokin, said: "Stick him through; ho is not wortliy ofxyoii." "Thereupon she lunged at him,; and ran him through the heart. Mmc. Potokin and eight offi-: cers who wore present at the duel were siibsequent^ 1: arrested.
