AVOID OPERATIONS. Extract from London "Medical Magazine" for May, 1910:—"Then* ferments obtained from the papaw, are made up in the form of au ointment and gargle, and are recommended as an application to enlarged glandular tissues, tumours, and ulcerations. The present preparation Eeems to combine the most active ferments of the plant m a succassful manner. Its activity vas demonstrated by "^veral-. cases of hypertrophy of the turbfrol bodies, and in- cases of enlarged tonsils. After three,or four weeks' application there was very, very marked improvement, rhere^can be no doubt that the preparation is unusually effective, and should prove very serviceable, obviating the necessity for operative procedures in many cases. Such operative procedures are often- adopted much too hastily. The present ferments are well deserving of a trial, and in many cases we have no doubt the result will b© satisfactory."
