AVOID OPERATIONS. Extract from London "Medical Magazine" for May, 1910:—"Thes* ferments obtained from the papaw, are made Up in the form of an ointment and gargle, and are recommended as an application to enlarged glandular' tissues, tumours, and ulcerations. The present preparation seems to combine the most active ferments of the plant in a successful manner. Its activity ivas demonstrated by "^veral cases of hypertrophy of the turbi?al bodies, and in cases of enlarged tonsils. After three or four weeks' application there was very, very marked improvement. There can be no doubt that tho preparation is unusually effective, and should ■prove very serviceable, obviating the necessity, for operative procedures in many cases. Such operative procedures are often adopted much too hastily. The present ferments are well deserv? ing of a trial, and in many cases we have no doubt th© insult will be satisfactory." Papaw Ointment, Is 6d (for ulcers, tumours, gpitro, and poisoned wonnds) ; Papaw Papayate, 2s. 6d (for nasal catarrh) ; Papaw 0?onio, 2a 6d; Papaw Pile Cure, 2s 6d. Wboleaolo.: J. H.
