Auckland, Feb. 8. fffaa proposal to hold a great aquatic oaoraival at Auckland in connection with the exhibition, extending over three days, and concluding on Anniversary T>a.y, January-29th next, finds general «upp»rt amongst leading sportsmen. Suggested features aro an inter-eolonlal yacht race, one for trading .yeeeets, a motor boat race on a scale to indue© competitors from south and Australia, and a championship rowing regatta. The Auckland Racing Club is expected to dp something handsome for the meeting about exhibition time. It is understood that the proposal is 'to increase the priae money which will exceed anything yet gif/en in the Dominion, including an Auckland Cup of above £4,000, and -an .-Exhibition Chip,, which should.induce competition from the best horsey in Australasia.
