Sir JMward Grey endeavoured to in-' duco Roshid and Tewfik Pashas not to break off tho negotiations, and said that he was prepai'ed, as honorary president, to re-open the conference.
Tli© Turks declined, declaring that they had reached the limit of concessions.
The joint note will probably bo presented to Turkey to-day. It is und?rstood to adopt a firm tone, counselling Turkey to give xip Adrianoplo, reserving tho Aegean Islands settlement to tho Powers who afford Turkey financial assistance if she accepts the proposition. Otherwise intervention will bo withheld.
M. Daneff offered to code to Roumania some unpopulated country and Raze fort, near Silistria, but Bulgaria will not concede any centre of population.
