AVOID OPERATIONS. Extract from London "Medical Magazine" for May, 1910:—"Thes* ferments obtained from the papaw, are made up in the form of an ointment and gargie, and are recommended . as an application to enlarged glandular tissues, tamours, and liberations. The present prepaw^ion seems to combine the most active ferments of the plant m si successful manner. Ita activity as demonetrated by -^reral cases oj hypertrophy of the turbid bodies, and in cases of enlarged tonsils. After three or four weeks' application there was very, very marked improvement. There can be no doubt that the preparation is unusually effective, and should prove very serviceable, obviating the necessity for operative procedures m many cases. Swell operative procedures are often adopted much too hastily.
