RIFLE SHOOTING.
NELSON DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB
The second of the championship series in conjunction with Mr. fcl. it. Duncan's trophy was fired for last week over ranges 800 and GOO yards, 7 shots at each. Rifleman R. Usher secured the log-in for the trophy with the fine score of 68', and Rifleman W. Mitchoner headed the list for the championship with the creditable score of 66 :off the rifle. Possibles were scored at 800 yards by Riflemen R. Usher and W. A. kenning, and one at 900 yards by Rifleman D. Scannoll. Over twenty took part in the competition, and the following are tho scores of the first twelve men:—
