BRIGHT DOMINION OUTLOOK

■ Wellington, Nov 25. xVccordmg to reports published in tho Journal of the Department of Agriculture this month, most of the fruit crops throughout the Dominion are losking well. In the Manawatu and Wairarapa districts there is every appearance of a good apple and pear crop. 1 each curl is prevalent in some parts of those two districts, where no Bordeaux mixture has been used. The apricot crop an Hastings is a record, and all other fruit trees are bearing well except apples. In the Wellington district Japanese plums givo promise of a neavy yield, but peaches, nectarines and apricots are poor. Apples and pears m iNelsan are settling heavy. Black spot is making its appearance on pears in some localities in that part of New Zealand, and peach curl is very prevalent. Largo yields of apples are expected by Auckland growers, who are deploring the failure of Japanese plums Tho prospects in Wanganui, Otago and Canterbury are excellent.
